Hey bug eaters!
After a crazy couple of weeks we have finally managed to upload our delicious spelt flour recipe! The last few days have been very hectic for me, trying to juggle studying, exams and Jamii Farms of course 🙂 I hope this bread recipe will make up for the wait – which I’m sure it will!
I haven’t gone nuts on the cricket flour here, because I still want the bread to rise properly and without sufficient carbohydrates it just wont 🙁 But hey – we can still make it a tad healthier with cricket flour, right? I have already developed a nut bread recipe ( inspired by My New Roots Blog) that will follow shortly! That way you also have a flour – less alternative with mainly only nuts and seeds. But for all those of you that enjoy a nice, fluffy bread – this recipe should work juuuust fine 🙂
Spelt Flour Cricket BreadPrint Recipe
- 400 g Spelt Flour Type 630
- 270 ml warm water
- 1 cube yeast ( I used dry)
- 1 tsp salt
- T tsp olive oil
Solve yeast, salt and oil in water, add half of the spelt flour and stir it together. Add the rest in smaller amounts while you work the dough. Work it for another 5 more minutes after adding the rest of the flour. Place dough in a warm spot and let rise ( overnight is best, but a coupe of hours are enough).
Take the breads out 30 min before baking them. Preheat the oven at 225°C. Bake the bread for about 30 min, turn down the heat to 200° and bake for another 20-25 min.
Enjoy warm with your favorite topping 🙂
